There are few places left that have not been devoured by modernity. One of those who still opposes some resistance
is the ancient and legendary Kingdom Of Mustang -. This valley, sculpted by the Kali Gandaki River, was of great
importance in times past, being part of the salt route and serving as a connection between India and Nepal with
Tibet. It was an independent kingdom until in 2008 it was permanently annexed to Nepal. A remote and isolated
territory that could only be accessed by walking long ago.
Located north of the Annapurnas, the Mustang region offers travelers the chance to discover a small Tibet without
leaving Nepal. Its arids landscapes, Buddhist religion and and its descendant population of Tibet offers the traveler a unique opportunity to discover de Low part of Mustang.
Unlike the high Mustang that requires a special permit, only ACAP and Tims are required to travel to Lower Mustang.
Another advantage is that Lower Mustang is located in the orographic shadow of the giants of the Himalayas, so the
clouds fail to discharge water in their arid lands, shaping a landscape similar to that of Tibet or Ladakh – in India. So, it´s also suitable fot the summer season, since the probability of rains is much lower than in the rest of the country, also increasing the chances of success in sighting peaks above 7,000 meters.
