TIPS »
  • Most nationalities can get either a 15 (25 USD) or 30 days (40 USD) visa when arriving into Nepal either by flight or overland. However, if you apply in your home country for a Nepali tourist visa you can avoid the queues (these queues are often very very long) at the Kathmandu International airport.
  • Attention : Once you are out of the airport you may be approached by the porters wanting to carry your bags or “rent” you a trolley. Unless you insist on handling your own luggage. Technically, the airport trolleys are free. This person will ask you for Tips. Arriving just before in Nepal, you will often only have a larger foreign currency in your pocket, which makes the issue of a tip a little problematic so make sure you have some small coins on hand a euro or two will be more than enough.
  • You can take power banks, laptops, iPad or any device with battery as long as it is in your hand baggage. No battery devices including power banks are permitted in check-in baggage.
